Founded in 1996, CMES, Inc. is a rapidly growing, privately held Georgia-based civil construction company. We are seeking to add a full-time Human Resources Manager to our team to support our continued rapid growth. This role is an office-based position, located in Norcross, Georgia and will provide the leadership and direction necessary to sustain the company's growth and to complete his/her agenda with his/her own management style within the framework of the company's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have previously worked in the construction field and will have a strong background in understanding how to administer the human resources function for project managers, laborers, operators, and various other field related positions. This position will require the ability to understand multiple HR technology platforms, ATS capabilities and KPI reporting. This is a full time, exempt position that will report to the Integrator (COO) in the office daily. This is not a remote position.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements of this position. • Maintain a consistent visible presence on project sites and with departments and be the HR liaison providing HR guidance with internal processes, policy, and compliance.


• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.


• Partner directly with the Human Resources Staff to ensure all requests are communicated clearly and aligned with established workflows ensuring that transactions can be completed in a timely manner.


• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.


• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.


• Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, People and Talent Coordinator, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.


• Support the team to proactively develop and use collaborative and cooperative relationships to deliver our Core Value Strategy (Respect, Trust, Dedication, and Appreciation) promoting the employer brand within and outside of the company.


• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in all aspects of Construction related to the Human Resources Function.


• Oversees the HR Generalist and People and Talent coordinator to ensure all onboarding and training of all employees is completed accurately and in a timely manner.


• Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and corporate policies.


• Weekly / Monthly Reporting.


• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience


• Minimum 5 years of previous experience in Human Resources.
• College degree in Human Resource Administration or related field.
• Experience in Microsoft Office, Proficient Level.
• Basic understanding of human resources practices.
• Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws regarding employment practices.
• Experience supervising a department.
• Familiarity with craft and field/technical employees in the heavy civil / infrastructure / utility construction industry (ie: operators, laborers, superintendents, foremen).

Preferred
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.


• Experience with Heavy Jobs / Key Style / Vista.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplines
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
