POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Senior Accounting Specialist is tasked with the meticulous recording of monthly transactions for designated business sectors, ensuring precision and timeliness. This role involves close collaboration with management and finance team members to uphold the integrity of financial statements, generate reports for external audits, conduct financial analysis, and contribute to various special initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in compliance with GAAP for assigned business units.
  • Accurately record all journal entries into the general ledger in a timely manner.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations, recommending adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure precise coding of transactional activities and maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Perform monthly financial statement analysis and prepare variance reports for management review.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations efficiently.
  • Provide middle office support and manage daily administrative tasks.
  • Assist in management reporting and the annual audit and tax preparation processes.
  • Lead smaller, less complex projects and analyses.
  • Support larger, more intricate projects and analyses.

REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in public accounting is advantageous. 1-3 years of overall experience is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in bank reconciliations, general ledger closing activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, periodic accruals, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP is essential.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to excellence.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrate diligence in meeting deadlines.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions based on general guidelines.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in the following software is required:
o Advanced Excel skills
o MS Word
o Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or other contemporary platforms is preferred.
