Position Overview
As ATP's flight training enrollment continues to expand, we are looking for a Training Support Specialist to join our Training Support Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that each student enjoys a seamless training experience. The Training Support Specialist will be responsible for providing students with access to essential resources and logistical support, enabling them to complete their training efficiently and within budget.
Key Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service is essential.
- Familiarity with aviation, particularly FAA Certification processes, is required.
- Possession of a Private Pilot Certificate or Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate is preferred.
- Some college coursework is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills are necessary.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities are required.
Core Responsibilities
- Engage with students both individually and in groups, proactively addressing their needs.
- Ensure student schedules are constructed effectively to promote high success rates.
- Provide coaching for students facing scheduling or performance challenges, advocating on their behalf when necessary.
- Conduct pre-arrival calls and checklists to prepare students for their first day, along with weekly orientation and instructor meetings.
- Administer FAA Knowledge Tests through CATS (Computer Assisted Testing Service).
- Manage scheduling and confirmations for Knowledge Tests, Evaluations, Solo Flights, and checkride milestones.
- Coordinate with Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs) regarding checkride availability and facilitate the overall checkride process.
- Develop contingency plans for potential weather, maintenance, and instructor-related issues.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the program outline.
- Facilitate connections with other ATP departments, including Training, Financing, and Housing as needed.
- Document and update the student tracking system to reflect progress and success.
- Conduct bi-weekly inspections of ATP Housing.
- Report to the Training Support Manager and collaborate with Training Center Flight Standards Instructors to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Physical Requirements
To perform the essential functions of this role, employees must be able to communicate effectively, see, stand, walk, use hands for handling tasks, and lift or move items weighing up to 10 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
