Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at Central Utah Surgical Center. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of nursing care, collaborating with the management team to drive quality improvement initiatives, and supporting a patient-first philosophy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing/BSN
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a PACU setting; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Two year supervisor experience.
  • Additional specialty experience may be required as per facility practices (i.e. Pediatric, GI, etc)
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Required valid BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable.
  • ACLS, PALS and/or other as required for patient care area and by facility.
