The Global Banking Analyst - Energy and Chemicals will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the origination and execution processes for leading technology firms globally. This position is integral in sustaining strategic dialogues and offering a comprehensive range of solutions across various sectors, including:

  • Global Banking: Encompassing Credit and Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets.
  • Transaction Banking: Covering Global Payments and Global Trade Solutions.
  • Global Markets: Including Foreign Exchange, Interest Rates, and Derivatives.
  • Global Asset Management: Aiming to enhance client relationships, increase banking revenues, and optimize relationship returns.

A genuine passion for fostering relationships and building trust is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

As the Global Banking Analyst, you will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the capital allocation committee process and establish strong connections with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the client service team, ensuring a unified approach to enhancing client relationships.
  • Track fee generation and manage financial reporting and analysis for the client portfolio effectively.
  • Support senior relationship managers in marketing initiatives, servicing client relationships, and driving income generation.
  • Utilize your corporate finance knowledge and financial modeling skills to evaluate corporate credit profiles.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of clients within the portfolio, along with sector themes and trends, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Build trusted relationships with Credit/Risk officers, articulating your insights clearly and effectively.
  • Work closely with the credit management team to maintain high-quality standards, ensuring documentation is tailored to the client and transaction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Global Banking to achieve the overarching objectives of the Coverage Model.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations and procedures applicable to the business.

Compensation

HSBC offers a competitive salary range between $100,000.00 and $110,000.00, with the final offer dependent on various factors, including role responsibilities, skills, experience, and educational background.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a drive for success.
  • A passion for building trusted relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An understanding of risk management and credit mitigants.
  • Robust financial analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • The ability to provide analytical support as needed.
  • Experience in conducting thorough reviews of industry, competitors, clients, and products, delivering high-quality credit risk analysis.
  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses are required, with a contingency period for obtaining licensing at the manager's discretion.
  • Familiarity with HSBC Group systems and Global Banking processes is advantageous.
