Position Overview

At HSBC, our mission is to create opportunities for our clients and communities. As an Analyst in the Global Banking Coverage for Energy and Chemicals, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the origination and execution of services for leading technology firms worldwide. Your primary focus will encompass various banking solutions, including Credit and Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Transaction Banking, Global Markets, and Asset Management.

Key Responsibilities

As an Analyst, you will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the capital allocation committee process and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the client service team to ensure a unified approach to enhancing client relationships.
  • Oversee fee generation and manage financial reporting and analysis for the client portfolio.
  • Support senior relationship managers in marketing initiatives, client servicing, and income enhancement.
  • Utilize your corporate finance expertise and financial modeling skills to evaluate corporate credit profiles.
  • Develop insights into client portfolios, sector themes, and trends, identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Build trusted relationships with Credit and Risk officers, articulating your insights clearly.
  • Work closely with the credit management team to maintain high-quality work tailored to specific clients and transactions.
  • Collaborate across Global Banking to achieve the objectives of the Coverage Model.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations applicable to your role.

  • Strong financial analysis capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • The ability to provide analytical support as needed.
  • Experience in conducting in-depth industry, competitor, and client analysis to assess credit risk.
  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses are required, with a potential contingency period for obtaining these licenses.
  • Familiarity with HSBC Group systems and Global Banking processes is advantageous.
