The Patient Access Lead is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of patient access operations. This role requires a strong understanding of the revenue cycle and its impact on our hospital's bottom line. As a Patient Access Lead, you will be responsible for monitoring the workload of Patient Access Representatives, providing support and supervision as needed, and ensuring that patients are accurately pre-registered and managed care requirements are met prior to their arrival.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and manage the workload of Patient Access Representatives to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks
• Provide support and supervision to line staff, including answering questions of immediacy and completing annual appraisals
• Assist in identifying areas for improvement opportunities and help determine the best approach for workflow and special projects
• Ensure that scheduled patients have been accurately pre-registered and managed care requirements are met prior to their arrival
• Assist in training new Patient Access staff and maintain staff work schedules
Requirements
• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with peers in problem solving
• Traits of teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong professional demeanor with the ability to rapidly establish credibility and rapport with staff and customers
