Ambulatory Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ambulatory Patient Access Representative to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Patient Access department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families, ensuring accurate and efficient registration and scheduling processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Interview and register patients in registration areas, obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information.
- Screen customer data to ensure patient eligibility for insurance and communicate differences to the customer.
- Assist in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicable.
- Establish and maintain open communication with all departments that Patient Access interacts with and clinical staff in those areas.
- High school graduate, Associate's Degree preferred.
- One-year previous healthcare experience preferred.
- CPR certification (based on position and as determined by manager).
