Ambulatory Patient Access Representative Lead

Job Summary
The Ambulatory Patient Access Representative Lead is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating procedures. This role involves interviewing and registering patients in registration areas that report up through Patient Access, obtaining accurate demographic, insurance, and physician information on registrations, and screening customer data to ensure patient eligibility for insurance indicated. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in identifying self-pay patients and referring them to financial assistance when applicable, establish and maintain open communication with all departments that Patient Access interacts with, and assist in the shadowing/precepting of new employees.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service to patients and families
- Interviews and registers patients in registration areas

Requirements
- High school graduate, Associates Degree preferred
- Demonstrated computer skills required with the ability to navigate most current technology systems
- Strong administrative skills required
- One-year previous health care experience preferred
