Patient Access Representative Lead

The Patient Access Representative Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of patient access operations. This position is responsible for coordinating the needs of the department with the staff, assigning workload, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the workload of Patient Access Representatives to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Provide support to line staff in answering questions of immediacy and serve in a supervision capacity as needed.
  • Assist in identifying areas for improvement opportunities and help determine the best approach for workflow and special projects.
  • Ensure scheduled patients have been accurately pre-registered and managed care requirements met prior to patient arrival.
  • Assist in training new Patient Access staff and maintain staff work schedules.
  • Ensure appropriate tools are available and working properly for staff to complete their jobs.
  • Maintain WQ's and monitor quality and productivity, reporting to supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with peers in problem-solving.
  • Traits of teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Detailed understanding of the revenue cycle and its impact on the hospital's bottom line.
  • Strong professional demeanor with the ability to rapidly establish credibility and rapport with staff and customers.
  • Ability to escalate situations to leadership as needed.
