Job Summary

Equitas Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with medical, mental health, and recovery staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of reception, data collection, and administrative support to health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule patient appointments for all health center services
  • Collect and update patient information, including demographics, insurance, and copays
  • Responsible for daily data entry, charge entry, and payment posting
  • Verify patient appointments via phone and update patient records
  • Scan patient paperwork and outside documents into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Manage tasks assigned by medical team members, including referrals, scheduling specialist appointments, and coordinating with case management staff
  • Maintain a clean and professional waiting room, reception area, and other health services areas
  • Prepare and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two or more years of medical reception experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to establish effective working relationships
  • Working knowledge of administrative procedures and organizational policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of CPT and/or ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and billing preferred
