Job Overview

As a Commercial Vehicle Operator, you will be tasked with the safe operation of a collection vehicle while navigating through neighborhoods and communities nationwide. You will provide reliable, friendly, and consistent service to customers who depend on us for essential waste management services. Your contributions will not only be visible but also impactful, as your role helps maintain the cleanliness and safety of streets, neighborhoods, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a collection vehicle to gather waste and/or recycling along a designated route and transport it to a disposal site.
  • Collaborate closely with Dispatch, your Supervisor, and fellow drivers to service customers across various routes and schedules.
  • Load and unload waste and/or recycling materials at landfills, recycling facilities, or similar locations.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition and promptly address any maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and report any safety or employee experience concerns to management.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Possession of a Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with air brakes endorsement (REQUIRED).
  • Ability to read maps and/or utilize navigational devices.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, nights, some holidays, and weekends.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure efficient and safe completion of assigned routes.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges.
  • A desire to work collaboratively as part of a team while treating colleagues with respect.
