The Concrete Mixer Operator is responsible for driving commercial vehicles designed to transport various materials from the job site to the yard while providing assistance to the crew. A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is mandatory. This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of concrete from batching facilities to multiple construction locations. The position requires a unique combination of skills, including operating heavy vehicles under various road conditions and closely coordinating with dispatch and construction teams to ensure timely and precise delivery. Maintaining the quality of concrete during transit by managing its consistency is a crucial aspect of this role. The operator is also tasked with the basic upkeep and cleanliness of the mixer truck, ensuring it remains in optimal working condition for daily operations. The Concrete Mixer Operator plays a vital role in the seamless execution of construction projects by delivering essential building materials when and where they are needed.

Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Teamwork, and Safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a concrete mixer truck to transport concrete from the plant to the construction site, ensuring timely delivery. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the mixer truck, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring the vehicle is in safe working order to comply with regulations. Mix concrete on-site, preparing only the necessary amount to minimize waste. Clean the mixer drum and chutes after each delivery to prevent concrete from hardening and to maintain the equipment's efficiency. Communicate with dispatch and construction site managers to confirm delivery details, adjust schedules as needed, and resolve any on-site issues promptly. Maneuver and position the mixer truck at the construction site to facilitate direct pouring of concrete or to fill concrete pumps or buckets, ensuring minimal disruption to the site. Adjust the drum rotation speed to mix the concrete during transit or to prevent separation of ingredients, ensuring the delivery of a quality product. Complete delivery tickets and other required documentation accurately and promptly, recording details such as quantity delivered, delivery location, and time of delivery. Perform minor maintenance tasks on the mixer truck, such as lubricating parts or replacing small components, to ensure the vehicle remains operational and reduces downtime. Assist the crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work. Aid equipment operators by swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions. Work with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners, and other industry tools. Signal equipment operators as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Success Factors:

Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions. Capability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift. Proficiency in climbing, digging, working in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling. Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure the concrete mixer truck is ready for operation, complying with safety regulations to prevent breakdowns. Identify the most efficient routes to construction sites for timely concrete delivery, utilizing knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns. Manage time effectively to ensure concrete reaches construction sites as scheduled, adapting to unexpected delays. Adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting regular vehicle inspections to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintain positive interactions and clear communication with clients to ensure timely, accurate deliveries and address any on-site concerns. Operate within a dynamic environment, primarily outdoors, navigating various construction sites. Work well independently and collaboratively with co-workers. Pass motor vehicle and criminal background checks, complying with drug-free workplace policies. Utilize English effectively for record-keeping, order placement, and preparing simple narrative reports. Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn additional skills.

Experience and Education:

A minimum of one (1+) year of experience in a construction role is required. A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is required. Prior experience in crew coordination is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid State Driver's License is required. Candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical, as well as a pre-employment drug screen.

Additional Requirements:
