The ideal candidate will embody professionalism, courtesy, and respect while representing our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive for duty punctually, dressed in the appropriate uniform and in good physical condition.
  • Efficiently operate the ACCESS vehicle according to a set schedule, ensuring timely arrivals at designated locations.
  • Deliver information to passengers in a polite and effective manner, demonstrating proper etiquette when assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Adhere to safety protocols when operating lifts and ramps, securing wheelchairs and mobility devices for passengers with special needs.
  • Maintain a comfortable environment within the ACCESS vehicle; operate the vehicle smoothly and safely; conduct daily inspections to ensure operational safety.
  • Collect fares accurately, treating all passengers with courtesy and sensitivity to their needs.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions diligently.
  • Prepare reports regarding traffic incidents, ACCESS vehicle occurrences, and other relevant matters.
  • Utilize navigational systems to efficiently route pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • Refer to MAPSCO for determining destinations and optimal routes as necessary.
  • Operate a two-way radio in compliance with the established regulations of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Compensation Structure:

Training Phase - $17.00 per hour
First Year - $18.50 per hour
Second Year - $20.00 per hour
Third Year - $22.00 per hour
Fourth Year - $25.00 per hour

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license for a minimum of three (3) years.
  • No more than one moving violation within the past three (3) years.
  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including weekends.
  • Capability to pass comprehensive reference checks, motor vehicle checks, criminal background checks, as well as drug and physical examinations.
  • Bilingual skills are advantageous.

Experience Requirements:

Must have held a valid driver's license for the last three years.
