Position Summary

The Combustion Project Engineer / Project Manager is tasked with the design and oversight of industrial furnace projects, including new builds, refurbishments, and upgrades. This role requires effective communication with the combustion team, suppliers, and clients, as well as collaboration with various departments to ensure project success and provide mechanical support during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

  • Foster a culture of safety in the workplace.
  • Document and report any safety incidents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Onex safety protocols.

Engineering

  • Utilize AutoCAD, Inventor, and Visio for creating product models and drawings.
  • Verify that components and assemblies meet contractual and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to confirm designs.
  • Oversee the commissioning and troubleshooting of new equipment.
  • Organize and maintain engineering documentation.

Project Management

  • Develop comprehensive project plans to track progress.
  • Procure necessary items based on assembly order and lead times.
  • Manage modifications to project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including client manuals and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget by monitoring design and production teams as well as third-party vendors.
  • Provide outstanding customer service through effective communication and technical expertise.
  • Engage in regular project audits to enhance quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Inventor, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with random drug testing policies.
