Onex Inc. is in search of a proficient Industrial Electrician responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems with electrical machinery. The ideal candidate will employ diagnostic instruments to identify the underlying causes of electrical failures and utilize power tools to rectify these issues. A deep understanding of electrical systems, coupled with strong manual dexterity, is essential for this role. The selected Industrial Electrician will be tasked with the installation, upkeep, and repair of electrical systems and components within our manufacturing environment, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety in high-temperature settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Carry out the installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, including high-voltage systems, control panels, and specialized instrumentation for high-temperature furnace operations.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Identify electrical malfunctions and implement corrective measures to restore operational functionality. Act swiftly to address equipment failures and breakdowns, minimizing production interruptions.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and industry standards, particularly those relevant to high-temperature environments. Ensure that all electrical installations and repairs meet applicable codes and regulations.
  • Design Upgrades: Contribute to the design and execution of enhancements and modifications to electrical systems to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability of high-temperature furnace operations.
  • Documentation: Keep precise records of electrical activities, including inspections, repairs, and modifications. Update technical documentation and schematics as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Partner with maintenance teams, engineers, and other staff to synchronize electrical work and support overall facility operations. Provide technical support and mentorship to less experienced colleagues as required.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance assessments on electrical systems and components to identify and address potential issues before they disrupt operations.


Qualifications:

  • Electrician Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Training - training will be provided.
  • Valid US Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Respirator Fit Testing.
  • Frequent physical handling of equipment and materials, requiring coordination of arms, hands, fingers, and legs.
  • Ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Endurance for physical exertion over extended periods.
  • Must successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening and be subject to random drug testing post-hire, as Onex maintains a drug-free workplace due to the safety-sensitive nature of our operations.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in field environments.

Work Environment:

  • Travel is required approximately 75% of the time.
  • Work is conducted in an indoor industrial setting.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, high temperatures, electrical hazards, vibrations, and elevated noise levels.
