Business Development Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Business Development Intern to join our team at Melton Truck Lines. As a Business Development Intern, you will assist with various tasks related to lead management, freight determination, data entry, and lead qualification.
This internship offers hands-on experience in the transportation industry, particularly in flatbed freight operations, and provides an opportunity to develop skills in business development and data management.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately enter and update leads into our CRM system.
- Assist in identifying and determining suitable flatbed freight options based on customer requirements.
- Perform data entry tasks to maintain and update databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Assist in qualifying leads by researching potential clients, analyzing data, and providing initial assessments.
- Use Excel to organize data, generate reports, and perform basic data analysis.
- Provide general administrative support to the Business Development team as needed.
- Work closely with the team to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of the transportation industry, particularly flatbed freight, is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with CRM software is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Hands-on experience in a dynamic industry.
