Job Overview:

  • Responsible for ordering, restocking, and merchandising specialty items while engaging in regional purchasing initiatives and promotional activities.
  • Handles tasks related to receiving deliveries, showcasing new products, and organizing store shelves.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of promotional displays while upholding merchandising standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procures and replenishes specialty products following established purchasing protocols.
  • Ensures prompt and precise ordering to optimize inventory turnover.
  • Communicates the distinctive attributes of Whole Foods Market products to customers.
  • Aims to meet and surpass sales and margin objectives.
  • Creates appealing merchandising displays and guarantees accurate signage and pricing.
  • Participates in promotional campaigns and offers product samples to customers.
  • Manages the customer special order process, including invoice processing and returns.
  • Evaluates product waste and spoilage while maintaining an orderly back stock area.
  • Completes necessary documentation and provides exceptional customer service.
  • Maximizes sales opportunities through effective procedures while adhering to established compliance standards.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing tasks, reporting any safety concerns or violations.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of specialty products and current market trends.
  • Enthusiasm for growing within the Specialty team and sharing product knowledge with others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong foundational math skills and familiarity with computer applications.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a retail setting.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Requires standing, walking, manual dexterity, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
