  • Procures and replenishes Specialty items following established buying protocols.
  • Ensures timely and precise orders to effectively manage inventory turnover.
  • Communicates the distinctive qualities of Whole Foods Market products to customers.
  • Aims to meet and surpass margin and sales objectives.
  • Creates impactful merchandising displays and guarantees accurate signage and pricing.
  • Participates in promotional activities and offers product samples to customers.
  • Manages customer special order processes, including invoice handling and returns.
  • Evaluates product waste and spoilage, maintaining an orderly back stock area.
  • Completes necessary documentation and delivers exceptional customer service.
  • Maximizes sales opportunities through effective practices while adhering to established compliance standards.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working and shopping environment.
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing responsibilities, reporting any safety hazards or violations.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of specialty products and current trends.
  • Willingness to grow with the Specialty team and educate others on product information.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Strong foundational math skills and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Passion for natural foods and alignment with Whole Foods Market's mission.
  • Strong work ethic and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a retail setting.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various temperature conditions.
  • Requires standing, walking, manual dexterity, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals that are FDA approved.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
