Patient Services Representative

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at the Neurosurgery Clinic. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for coordinating patient schedules, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers
- Provide accurate and timely information to patients and staff
- Update patient demographics and maintain accurate records
- Answer phone calls and direct patients to the appropriate staff member
- Prepare and enter healthcare providers' schedules into the computer
- Coordinate schedules for patients requiring multiple services
- Check in and check out patients, accept payments, and prepare encounter forms
- Code procedures and diagnoses, and ensure resident and faculty signatures on encounter forms
- Prepare and type daily deposits, balance and close cash box daily
- Filing and organization of patient charts, copying medical records, and preparing inactive patient charts for storage
- Referrals and authorizations, verifying insurance eligibility and primary care physicians
- Collect and verify proof of income for sliding scale discounts
- 1 or more years of professional work experience required
- 2 or more years of experience in customer service preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
