Role Summary:

The Arc of the United States is in search of a seasoned Human Resources Executive to spearhead, coordinate, and execute daily HR initiatives essential for achieving our strategic objectives. This role will collaborate closely with the CEO and COO to establish and implement the HR strategy, encompassing employee engagement, retention, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR infrastructure. The Executive will work directly with leadership, managers, and employees at all levels to provide proactive HR solutions while cultivating a culture of trust and commitment. A strong focus on customer service will be paramount, ensuring effective employment, orientation, and benefits practices. Collaboration with the Operations Team will be key, particularly in mentoring the Payroll and Benefits Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute strategies that resonate with The Arc's goals and culture, fostering a positive employee experience.
  • Regularly evaluate and refine HR policies and practices tailored to organizational needs.
  • Design and implement effective onboarding, growth, and retention strategies.
  • Oversee performance management programs and provide managerial guidance on performance-related matters.
  • Conduct HR data analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead the development and management of competitive compensation and health programs.
  • Address employee relations issues, conducting investigations and resolving conflicts to promote an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Administer comprehensive employee onboarding and benefits programs, maintaining strong relationships with benefits brokers.
  • Oversee the HR management system to ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data.
  • Identify, engage, and recruit top talent, enhancing our reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Act as a resource for employees regarding HR inquiries, benefits, and policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the Payroll and Benefits Administrator.
  • Allocate 10% of time to support urgent office needs, including managing technology resources and organizing staff meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of senior-level HR experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HR programs.
  • Strong background in performance management, change management, and leadership development.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and employment law.
  • High emotional intelligence with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in real-time.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey HR concepts in accessible language.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising judgment and discretion.
  • Experience in building strong partnerships with leadership and influencing without authority.
  • Willingness to work in-office three days per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary based on education and experience, with a salary range of $90,000 - $120,000. A comprehensive benefits package is included, featuring health and dental insurance, 403(b) employer contributions, accrued vacation and sick leave, paid family leave, and more. The majority of work will be conducted on a computer and in meetings, both in-person and virtual.
