We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Operating Officer to join our team. As a key leadership position, the COO will be responsible for day-to-day management of the organization, building organizational and financial capacity, and working collaboratively with the Executive Director and other staff directors to develop and meet broad organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve internal functions to ensure the organization is appropriately staffed and managed with the necessary resources to fulfill its mission.
  • Oversee development and monitoring of the annual operating budget and long-range financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee organizational structuring of real estate acquisition, financing, and property management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the strategic plan.
  • Develop and lead the performance management process to measure and evaluate progress against goals and metrics for the organization.
  • Understand and implement all SOV policies and procedures.
  • Oversee all human resources matters, including recruiting, hiring, training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and performance evaluation.
  • Strengthen organizational systems for communication, coordination, and planning.
  • Oversee all information technology matters.
  • Actively assist the Executive Director in management of the Board of Directors and Committees.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of organizational development experience in a senior leadership position, including experience in developing effective systems, structures, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience related to affordable housing development, finance, management, and compliance is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a strong interest in pursuing an outside-the-box approach.
  • Naturally collaborative work style, with effective management and a light touch.
  • Ability to connect with and support staff on both the rational/technical side of our work and the emotional side of our work.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills, along with interpersonal, listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

What We Offer

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
