Job Title: Chief Operations Officer

Job Summary:

The Chief Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing all Operations units, including Transit Operations, Fleet Management, Facilities Management, Customer Service Center, and Specialized Services. The COO ensures safety, compliance, and organizational goals are met to provide effective and efficient transit services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee delivery of transit services, ensuring service reliability, cost efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage the Operations budget, ensuring fiscal performance and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with the union to resolve issues and negotiate labor contracts.
  • Represent the department at hearings and arbitrations as needed.
  • Supervise assigned personnel, providing guidance, coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation, or a related field.
  • At least 7-9 years of related work experience in a transportation environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of transportation modes, contract management, fiscal management, and labor agreements.
  • Skills in leadership, management, communication, and negotiation.
  • Ability to analyze situations, implement solutions, and evaluate outcomes.

Compensation:

This is a full-time, exempt position, eligible for the regular administrative benefits package. The pay range is between $141,900.00 and $192,000.00 annually.
