Transportation Security Officer

Job Summary
As a Transportation Security Officer with the Transportation Security Administration, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the American public. This position requires a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability, as you will be responsible for screening passengers and their belongings to prevent the transportation of dangerous objects onto aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and their belongings to prevent the transportation of dangerous objects onto aircraft
- Operate electronic detection and imaging equipment to identify potential security threats
- Perform pat-down searches and other security procedures as needed
- Work collaboratively with other TSA employees to ensure the smooth operation of airport security
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
- Complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI)
- Pass pre-employment Drug Screening and be subject to post-employment random drug and alcohol testing
- Be available to work various shifts and overtime as needed
- Meet and maintain medical requirements for screening work, including a medical examination and physical abilities assessment
