As a key member of our culinary team, the Sous Chef will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility. This role will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
- Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients.
- Produce and execute catering events that exceed client expectations.
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
- A.S. degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
- Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
- Catering experience is a plus.
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, and the Internet.
- Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
- ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
