About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Executive Leader for Investigations to join our team at the Office of the Inspector General, USPS. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our investigative efforts and ensuring the integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct investigative activities across the country, applying sound management principles to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in setting performance levels commensurate with our strategic objectives, promoting quality through effective use of our performance management system.
  • Assess current and future staffing needs, applying merit principles to develop, select, and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Oversee the allocation of financial resources, identifying cost-effective solutions to operational issues and providing support and oversight to the budgetary process.
  • Represent and speak for our office and its work, making clear and convincing oral presentations to individuals and groups, and facilitating an open exchange of ideas.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with internal and external groups, engaging in cross-functional activities and maintaining common ground with a widening range of stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Must currently be classified as a USPS-OIG or USPIS, IGES or Executive level 1811 Criminal Investigator.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement Required.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening, medical assessment questionnaire, and a physical examination.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued credit card.
  • Selectee will be subject to random drug testing.
Qualifications
  • Current USPS-OIG or USPIS, IGES or Executive level 1811's.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Have served in a leadership position in the Federal Law Enforcement 1811 series Criminal Investigator within USPS-OIG or USPIS.
  • Have current experience at the equivalent IGES or Executive Band Level.
  • At least 7 years of professional Federal Law Enforcement experience.
  • Must have received a satisfactory performance rating on your two most recent performance appraisals.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Graduate level education.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Inspector General (IG) community.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Postal Service and its operations.
