As a vital member of a dedicated team, the Compliance Inspector plays a crucial role in safeguarding the health and safety of residents by performing on-site evaluations and inquiries in Texas long-term care establishments. This includes licensed nursing homes, assisted living facilities, day activity and health services sites, and pediatric extended care centers, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
In this dynamic field position, the Compliance Inspector conducts thorough investigations of complaints and incidents, either as part of a team or independently, focusing on issues related to abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
The inspector operates primarily in the field, with minimal office work, although it is essential to document findings in detailed reports that outline any deficiencies or violations, recommend corrective actions, and provide narratives to support regulatory conclusions.
Additionally, the inspector is responsible for preparing comprehensive written reports that back the proposed actions and remedies, participating in surveys, inspections, and investigations with assigned teams, and accepting various assignments as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of a program manager, the Compliance Inspector conducts licensure inspections, investigates complaints and incidents, and performs annual comprehensive surveys in facilities to assess compliance with health and safety regulations.
Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide, exchange, or verify information, respond to inquiries, and address concerns related to services provided in Texas long-term care facilities, ensuring that these services meet the specialized needs of residents.
Conducts exit meetings with facility staff to discuss findings and may assist in formulating a plan to rectify deficiencies.
Completes inspection or survey reports that detail deficiencies, recommended corrective measures, and narratives supporting regulatory findings.
Visits long-term care facilities to confirm the correction of previously identified regulatory violations.
Performs quality assurance reviews of documents prepared by others, such as publications, assessments, and reports.
Occasionally, may be required to provide testimony at hearings or court proceedings regarding policies, procedures, findings, or activities.
Completes referrals for further action as appropriate.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
