Location: San Marcos, TX
POSITION SUMMARY
The role involves supporting the daily functions of designated strategic sales accounts through various responsibilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Managing incoming purchase orders and processing requests from strategic accounts as instructed by the Strategic Account Supervisor.
- Providing assistance to account customers and retail personnel via phone or other communication methods regarding product inquiries and purchases. Offering insights on product usage, availability, and application.
- Collaborating with the Strategic Account Supervisor to address account-related issues and customer complaints. Supporting retail sales staff in resolving account challenges, including delivery or warranty concerns. Keeping the Strategic Account Supervisor updated on pricing or service matters at various job sites linked to assigned accounts.
- Assisting with additional departmental tasks as delegated by the Strategic Account Supervisor, such as ordering products for retail locations, aiding in inventory management related to account orders, and ensuring compliance with established file control and audit systems for customer documentation.
- Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures while fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Participating in all store meetings and company-sponsored management programs as required.
SUPERVISORY ROLE
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; or six to nine months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Proficient in writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret data.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and manage problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, IBM Content Manager, and other software applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in the retail building supply sector.
- Familiarity with building supply and/or agricultural product lines and their applications.
- Understanding of reading and interpreting blueprints and structural designs, including the ability to calculate necessary information for bids and quotes.
WORK AVAILABILITY
- Regular and acceptable attendance as determined by management.
- Availability to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, or as required by business needs.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary to meet business demands.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands of this role require the employee to regularly communicate, stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is typically moderate in noise level.
