Role Overview
The Department of Energy (DOE) requires specialized support in Project Risk Management for the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant Project.

The selected contractor will provide a part-time project risk manager to assist with the following responsibilities:

  1. Developing, executing, and overseeing the Waste Program Division's risk management strategy.
  2. Collaborating with the Waste Treatment Plant's risk manager.
  3. Evaluating proposals to ensure accurate risk integration into project schedules and budgets.
  4. Establishing risk management standards, policies, and procedures.
  5. Identifying, evaluating, monitoring, and reporting project risks.
  6. Facilitating Risk Workshops.
  7. Conducting Schedule and Cost Risk Assessments.
  8. Generating ad-hoc Risk reports.
  9. Assessing the accuracy of risk evaluations and the sufficiency of mitigation strategies.
  10. Managing the Project Risk Register.
  11. Tracking the progress of risk management actions assigned to risk owners.
  12. Coordinating risk reviews with the DOE Risk Manager and relevant personnel.
  13. Ensuring up-to-date data in the risk management system.
  14. Participating in monthly Joint Risk Management Meetings.
  15. Conducting Schedule Risk Analysis.
  16. Engaging in Risk Management Working Groups.
  17. Building relationships with key stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
  18. Producing monthly risk metrics, including management reserve and contingency utilization.
  19. Contributing to monthly reports and reviews.
  20. Preparing materials for risk management meetings.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • Expertise in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Scheduling, Costing, and Budgeting.
  • Experience with Primavera Risk Analysis, Fuse, and PRA Software.
  • A Master's degree in Project Management or a Risk Management Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment techniques, risk models, statistical analysis, and scheduling tools.
  • Familiarity with DOE directives and PARs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
