As a Senior Systems Safety Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to research, design, model, simulate, test, and enhance advanced products and services.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing intricate system architectures using contextual modeling platforms, guiding them from conceptualization through detailed design, simulation, and testing with state-of-the-art tools. Your role as a cross-functional engineer will involve overseeing system-level responsibilities for new products and processes throughout their lifecycle.

About the Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) Division: Our MST team is dedicated to providing cost-effective, comprehensive command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection, and security solutions globally. With a rich history of supporting various government and commercial clients, we bring years of experience in operations, engineering, and full lifecycle management across multiple domains, including air, land, sea, space, and cyber.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or a related field, with typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Proven understanding of System Safety engineering principles and practices applicable to military contexts.
  • Expertise in Software Safety engineering principles and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety-critical systems.
  • Advanced skills in system and subsystem risk evaluation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH).
  • Experience conducting Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA).
  • Proficiency in evaluating software contributions and levels of rigor (LOR).
  • Experience working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to plan and oversee system and software safety development initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and a dedicated work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
  • Knowledge of Static/Dynamic code analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with US Navy/NAVAIR guidelines.
  • Experience with Design Assurance and Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of bi-directional traceability.
  • Understanding of software development processes.
  • Familiarity with Verification, Validation, and Quality Assurance practices.
  • Background in the Aerospace and/or Defense sectors.
  • Ability to establish and monitor key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM).
  • Progressive experience in leading baseline definition and maturation in complex development environments, including high-impact trade studies.
