Key Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience
  • Proven expertise in System Safety engineering principles and practices for military applications
  • Advanced understanding of Software Safety engineering principles
  • In-depth knowledge of safety-critical systems
  • Expertise in system and subsystem risk evaluation and analysis
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E standards
  • Proficient in the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH)
  • Experience with Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA)
  • Capability to assess software contributions and levels of rigor (LOR)
  • Experience in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Ability to plan and oversee system and software safety development efforts
  • Strong organizational skills and work ethic
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Thorough knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, systems design, integration, technical risk management, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience with requirements management and system modeling tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles, including Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in complex development settings
  • Understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
  • Familiarity with Static/Dynamic code analyses and tools
  • Knowledge of US Navy/NAVAIR guidance
  • Familiarity with Agile development and software development processes

Compensation: Estimated starting salary ranges from [109,592.82 USD Annual] to [150,690.13 USD Annual].
