Senior Systems Safety Specialist

As a Senior Systems Safety Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to research, design, model, simulate, test, and certify state-of-the-art products and services. Your role will involve creating intricate system architectures within contextual modeling environments, guiding them from initial concept through detailed design, simulation, and testing using advanced methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout their lifecycle.
- Apply your knowledge of System Safety engineering principles and practices tailored for military applications.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of safety-critical systems and perform risk assessments.
- Utilize MIL-STD-882E and the Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook (JSSSEH) in your analyses.
- Facilitate Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA) and assess software contributions and levels of rigor.
- Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to oversee system and software safety development efforts.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and a robust work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Static/Dynamic code analysis tools.
- Understanding of US Navy/NAVAIR guidance and Design Assurance in Agile development.
- Experience with bi-directional traceability and software development processes.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
- Ability to establish and monitor key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM).
- Proven track record in leading baseline definition and maturation in complex development environments.
