Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer, you will be part of the Group Process Development team, utilizing skills related to maintaining and enhancing production manufacturing processes within a collaborative team. The primary duties of the Process Engineer include troubleshooting, monitoring, and accelerating shop orders. You will assist in the creation and revision of engineering documentation and explore new tooling, materials, manufacturing methods, and technologies.
Project Management Skills

Project management abilities, encompassing planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks, are essential to ensure that projects are finalized on schedule and within budget.
Effective Communication

Strong communication skills are vital for effectively sharing ideas, collaborating on projects, and presenting findings or recommendations.
Problem-Solving Expertise

You will be tasked with identifying and addressing issues that arise. This will involve taking initiative to resolve problems by generating potential solutions, understanding the underlying causes, and implementing effective resolutions.
Performance Goals

Within your initial months, you will be responsible for familiarizing yourself with our organization, contributing to various projects, and leading project management efforts.

During your first month, you will:

  • Understand Applied's mission and vision while participating in foundational courses.
  • Discuss your objectives and expectations with your team leader(s) and review all pertinent team resources and materials.
  • Engage actively in team meetings and discussions.
  • Demonstrate a solid technical understanding of the product line(s) and/or projects.
  • Support team meetings and agendas.
  • Take on one or more projects requiring minimal guidance.
Within 60 days, you will:
  • Establish interpersonal connections and relationships with others to effectively achieve project objectives and deliverables.
  • Lead moderate to complex projects with limited guidance.
Within 90 days to 1 year, you will:
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of Applied's Quality Management System and effectively troubleshoot challenges that may impact project timelines.
  • Manage a variety of projects independently.
Position Qualifications
  • 1-4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (e.g., SolidWorks), spreadsheets, scheduling software, and word processing.
  • Exceptional technical writing skills.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with various materials and mechanical designs.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the medical device sector.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality standards, including FDA regulations and ISO quality systems.
  • Experience with software such as NetWeaver/Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis tools.
  • Leadership or project management experience.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
About the Group Process Development Team

The Group Process Development team is responsible for supporting the manufacturing processes for their respective product families. They assist with concept development, product testing, prototyping, feasibility studies, and design for manufacturing. They ensure that the manufacturing components and procedures are designed and validated to meet the company's performance, value, quality, and cost requirements. This involves collaboration with other teams, including but not limited to Quality Systems, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Development.

Benefits

The base compensation range for this role is $95,000 per year. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The displayed range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries based on the date of this job posting. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range and compensation package during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation range may be adjusted in the future. Each amount of pay is considered wages or compensation once earned and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefit, or other form of compensation may be modified at the Company's discretion, consistent with the law.

The total compensation package for this position may also include bonuses and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
