Position Overview:

We are seeking to fill two (2) full-time positions for the role of Relationship Banking Specialist II at Bank of Southern CA.

Role Summary:

The primary focus of this role is to deliver an exceptional customer experience to all clients visiting the branch. This includes assisting with account management and transactional requests, while also promoting and cross-selling various banking products and services. Additionally, support will be provided to fellow team members across the Branch and Department as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities to promote and cross-sell banking products and services effectively.
  • Deliver an outstanding customer experience to all branch clients.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring resolution at the branch level.
  • Perform essential transactions to meet customer needs, including:
  1. Processing client transactions
  2. Managing debit card orders and services
  3. Setting up and servicing online banking (as applicable)
  4. Handling printed check orders
  5. Coordinating branch cash orders and shipments (as applicable)
  6. Conducting branch certifications (as assigned)
  7. Managing stop payments
  8. Processing holds
  9. Handling Reg. E claims
  10. Opening, closing, and servicing safe deposit boxes (as assigned)
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of compliance regulations related to account servicing, including:
  1. Bank Secrecy Act
  2. Customer Information Program
  3. Beneficial Ownership
  4. Office of Foreign Asset Control
  5. Trust Account documentation
  6. Fiduciary Account documentation
  • Participate in ongoing training and achieve satisfactory ratings on all regulatory compliance audits.
  • Adhere to reporting and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering laws, OFAC, and CIP regulations.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to regulatory compliance.
  • Independently manage complex or non-routine operational issues, recognizing when to seek management support.
  • Ensure the branch operates safely and effectively.
  • Maintain reliable and regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
  • Able to collaborate with colleagues and accept constructive feedback.
  • Familiarity with banking products and systems to facilitate cross-selling.
  • Comprehensive understanding of banking regulations, particularly BSA.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: Six months of experience in branch banking.
  • Required: Minimum of six months of cash handling experience.
Work Environment:
  • Standard office environment with moderate noise levels.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Consistent use of office machinery, including computers and printers.
  • Repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Close visual acuity for data analysis and extensive reading.
  • Regular verbal communication with employees, clients, and vendors.
