Position Summary
We are in search of a dedicated Vein Medical Assistant who will serve as the initial clinical contact for patients, performing a variety of essential clinical tasks. Responsibilities include preparing surgical trays, assisting with venous procedures, and utilizing software for maintaining medical records, billing, and insurance documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually and prepare exam, procedure, and cosmetic rooms, including the setup of solutions and sterilized packs.
- Escort patients to examination rooms; accurately gather and document patient history, including skin and general medical history, current medications, and the purpose of the visit.
- Ensure patient rooms are turned over efficiently by removing sharps, cleaning, and preparing for the next patient.
- Assist in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments, check expiration dates of supplies and medications, and manage waste disposal appropriately.
- Maintain organized, clean, and fully stocked rooms at all times.
- Prepare prescriptions as per provider instructions and send them to the designated pharmacy; accurately document EMR results of each patient visit, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Conduct triage, manage prior authorizations, and perform post-operative calls while preparing for upcoming procedures and appointments.
- Document patient interactions regarding treatment discussions, physician orders, and insurance or financial matters.
- Provide patients with post-operative instructions and education regarding venous insufficiency and treatment options, including insurance coverage details.
- Utilize appropriate software for recording medical records for treatment, patient care, and billing purposes.
- Assist providers during office visits by accurately documenting examinations and treatments, ensuring a sterile environment, and managing treatment plans.
- Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by department leads.
- Collaborate effectively within a team, fostering professional relationships with patients, providers, supervisors, and administrative staff.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a healthcare setting, with a Registered Medical Assistant Certificate and at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician in a clinical environment, demonstrating recent technical and clinical skills.
- Communication: Strong oral communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively.

Work Style
The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently while also seeking assistance when necessary. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret information both telephonically and electronically are essential.
