Position Summary
We are in search of a dedicated Vein Medical Assistant who will serve as the initial clinical contact for patients. This role involves a variety of essential clinical tasks, including the preparation of surgical trays, assistance during venous procedures, and the management of medical records through specialized software.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually and prepare exam, procedure, and cosmetic rooms, ensuring all necessary solutions and sterilized packs are ready.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and accurately document their medical history, including skin conditions, current medications, and the purpose of their visit.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms by removing sharps, cleaning surfaces, and preparing for subsequent patients.
- Assist in the sterilization of instruments, check the expiration dates of supplies, and manage waste disposal.
- Ensure that rooms are fully stocked and organized before and after shifts.
- Prepare prescriptions as directed by providers and document patient visit details in the electronic medical record (EMR), including diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
- Conduct triage, manage prior authorizations, and make post-operative calls as needed.
- Provide patients with comprehensive post-operative instructions and education regarding venous insufficiency and treatment options.
- Utilize appropriate software for recording medical records and billing purposes.
- Support providers during office visits by accurately documenting examinations and treatments in the medical record, ensuring a sterile environment is maintained.
- Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by department leadership.
- Collaborate effectively within a team, fostering professional relationships with patients, providers, and administrative staff.

Work Schedule

Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1-2 years in a medical office setting, with a Registered Medical Assistant Certificate and at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Surgical Technician.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information effectively.
- Work Style: Ability to work independently while seeking assistance when necessary, with strong analytical and interpretative skills.
