Position Overview

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is seeking a dedicated Clinical Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in providing assistance to healthcare professionals in a clinical setting, which may encompass various specialties such as oncology, diagnostic imaging, and patient care management.

The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient operations, assisting with clinical tasks, and facilitating patient education. Responsibilities also include performing administrative duties to support the healthcare team effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guide patients to and from examination areas and treatment rooms as necessary.
  • Document patient information prior to consultations, including vital signs, medical history, and medication updates.
  • Collect and verify patient records and ensure consent forms are completed before procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas, ensuring all supplies are stocked and ready for use.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and medical procedures as required.
  • Support patient education initiatives by distributing informational materials and answering questions.
  • Draw blood samples from patients as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Administer injections and other treatments as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure cleanliness and disinfection of clinical areas, managing instruments and equipment as necessary.
  • Process prescription requests and manage patient communications as instructed.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, tests, and follow-up visits, including necessary pre-authorizations.
  • Gather and organize patient records and previous test results for review.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and reception duties as assigned.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or healthcare providers.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • This is an entry-level position, suitable for candidates with 0-3 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.
Certifications
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
