Position Overview

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution, compliance, and reporting of RS Americas, Inc.'s environmental management and sustainability initiatives, aligned with the Group's 2030 ESG objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Environmental Management and Compliance
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of environmental management systems that comply with legal and regulatory standards across the Americas.
  • Lead the maintenance of the environmental management system (including ISO 14001) and manage internal and external environmental audits.
  • Direct the response to significant environmental incidents and investigations, ensuring proper action plans are developed and executed.
  1. Advancing Sustainability Goals
  • Drive the strategy and execution of sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and waste management, in line with the Group's 2030 goals.
  • Collaborate with facilities and operations teams to achieve site-specific carbon and energy reduction targets.
  • Manage significant decarbonization projects, such as transitioning to low-carbon technologies and sustainable transport solutions.
  1. Sustainability Performance and Reporting
  • Oversee the collection and reporting of environmental data for all sites within the Americas.
  • Coordinate the environmental reporting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Engage with corporate stakeholders to communicate progress and future plans regarding environmental initiatives.
  1. Health and Safety Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with safety legislation and policies, conducting regular inspections to verify adherence.
  • Develop and maintain risk assessments and safety procedures in accordance with best practices.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance awareness and compliance among staff regarding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing environmental, sustainability, and health and safety programs in complex, multi-site organizations.
  • Expertise in implementing management systems and optimizing compliance processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various teams.

Desirable

  • Experience in relevant industries such as manufacturing, distribution, or electronics.
  • Formal environmental qualifications, preferably with chartered status.
