Role Overview

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is pivotal in steering the environmental strategy, compliance, and sustainability initiatives across our operations. This role is essential for aligning our practices with the Group's 2030 ESG objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Environmental Management and Compliance
  • Oversee the establishment and upkeep of environmental management systems, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards across all operational sites.
  • Manage the ISO 14001 certification process and coordinate environmental audits and investigations.
  • Directly implement environmental programs and provide necessary support for operational compliance.
  1. Advancing Sustainability Goals
  • Lead the development and execution of sustainability strategies, focusing on carbon reduction, waste management, and sustainable transport solutions.
  • Collaborate with facilities teams to achieve energy reduction targets in line with net zero commitments.
  • Manage significant decarbonization projects and support supply chain sustainability initiatives.
  1. Sustainability Performance and Reporting
  • Coordinate environmental data reporting for all sites, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders to communicate sustainability progress and future plans.
  1. Health & Safety Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to maintain high safety standards.
  • Develop training programs to enhance awareness and capability among staff regarding health and safety practices.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing environmental and safety programs in complex organizations.
  • Strong background in implementing management systems and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in relevant industries such as manufacturing or distribution.
  • Formal qualifications in environmental management.
