Role Overview

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the effective delivery, compliance, and reporting of RS Americas, Inc.'s environmental management and sustainability initiatives, aligned with the Group's 2030 ESG strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Environmental Management and Compliance
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of environmental management systems to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across the Americas.
  • Manage the environmental management system (including ISO 14001) and coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Lead investigations into major environmental incidents and develop action plans for resolution.
  1. Sustainability Goals Leadership
  • Drive the execution of sustainability strategies, including carbon reduction initiatives and waste management programs.
  • Collaborate with facilities teams to achieve energy reduction targets and implement new environmental management technologies.
  • Manage significant decarbonization projects and support supply chain sustainability efforts.
  1. Performance Reporting and Engagement
  • Oversee the collection and reporting of environmental data for all sites in the Americas.
  • Engage with corporate stakeholders to communicate progress on environmental initiatives.
  1. Health & Safety Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with safety legislation and policies, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
  • Develop training programs to enhance awareness of compliance requirements among staff.
  • Mentor Environmental, Health & Safety Advisors to build their expertise and confidence.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in managing environmental, sustainability, and health and safety programs in complex organizations.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in environmental reporting and project management.

Desirable

  • Relevant industry experience in sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, or retail.
  • Formal environmental qualifications, preferably with chartered status.
