Role Overview

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is accountable for the execution, compliance, and reporting of RS Americas, Inc.'s environmental management and sustainability initiatives, aligned with the Group's 2030 ESG objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Environmental Management and Compliance
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of environmental management systems that adhere to legal, regulatory, and compliance standards across the Americas.
  • Lead the management of the environmental system (including ISO 14001 certification where applicable) across the Americas region.
  • Manage internal and external environmental audits, investigations, and action plans.
  • Coordinate responses to significant environmental incidents and ensure effective communication and action plans are in place.
  1. Advancing Sustainability Goals
  • Direct the strategy, targets, and reporting for carbon reduction initiatives, including net zero and SBTi targets, in alignment with the Group's ESG approach.
  • Collaborate with facilities and operations teams to achieve carbon and energy reduction goals utilizing an Environmental Management Dashboard.
  • Manage significant capital projects aimed at decarbonization, such as transitioning to low carbon HVAC systems or solar energy solutions.
  1. Sustainability Performance and Reporting
  • Oversee the collection and reporting of environmental data for all sites in the Americas.
  • Coordinate environmental reporting processes and annual assurance activities.
  • Establish robust environmental data management systems in new acquisitions and implement proactive sustainability programs.
  1. Health & Safety Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with safety legislation and adherence to safety policies and practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify the implementation of safety procedures.
  • Develop and execute training programs to enhance awareness of compliance areas among staff.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience managing environmental, sustainability, and health and safety programs in complex, multi-site organizations.
  • Strong background in implementing management systems and optimizing compliance processes.
  • Experience in coordinating environmental and safety reporting across multiple sites.

Desirable

  • Relevant industry experience in sectors such as industrial, distribution, or manufacturing.
  • Formal environmental qualifications, preferably with chartered status.
