Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Operations Engineer to join our Global Incident Response Team at NBCUniversal. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in leveraging ITIL best practices for effective Incident Management and will be responsible for providing critical metrics and reporting to foster continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Management: Spearhead the response to IT incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal disruption to operations. Formulate and implement strategies aimed at incident prevention.
  • Application Monitoring: Oversee real-time monitoring of all IT systems and applications, proactively identifying and collaborating with application and service owners to address performance issues to avert downtime.
  • Operational Reporting: Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and KPIs that accurately represent system availability and performance. Utilize data analytics to guide decision-making and operational enhancements.
  • System Optimization: Collaborate with application and service owners to continuously assess system performance, pinpointing opportunities for optimization and enhancements to bolster scalability and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Engage closely with technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and initiatives. Act as a liaison between IT and other departments, providing timely updates and feedback loops to address concerns and enhance overall service delivery.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations, with a significant focus on incident management and system monitoring.
  • Proficient in ITIL best practices for Incident Management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and cloud services in high-traffic environments.
  • Experienced with application monitoring tools, incident tracking systems, and operational reporting technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Confidence and ability to engage with all levels of management, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to be on call and work during off-peak hours as required for incident management.
