Job Overview

Position Title: Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

Position Summary: The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) plays a pivotal role in shaping the organization's comprehensive risk management framework, ensuring that all risk-related initiatives are in harmony with the company's strategic objectives and risk tolerance. This position entails leading the efforts in risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation, while safeguarding the organization's assets and maintaining its reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute the organization's risk management framework, ensuring it aligns with business goals and adheres to regulatory standards.
  • Supervise the identification, evaluation, and management of risks across the enterprise, encompassing operational, financial, strategic, and compliance dimensions.
  • Establish and uphold risk management policies, procedures, and controls to effectively manage and mitigate risks.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership and the board on risk-related issues and management practices.
  • Lead and mentor the risk management team, promoting a culture of proactive risk management and ongoing enhancement.
  • Monitor and assess risk trends, emerging threats, and industry shifts, adapting risk management strategies as required.
  • Ensure integration of risk management activities into business processes and decision-making across all organizational levels.
  • Oversee risk-related audits, investigations, and compliance assessments, addressing issues and implementing corrective measures.
  • Prepare and deliver risk management reports, metrics, and updates to senior executives and the board.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including compliance, legal, and finance, to strengthen overall risk management efforts and ensure adherence to regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Significant experience in risk management, including senior leadership roles and strategic planning.
  • Thorough understanding of risk assessment techniques, risk management frameworks, and regulatory obligations.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with senior executives, the board, and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Risk Management Professional) are advantageous.
