Position Overview

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking an Academic Recruiter who will report directly to the Director of Student Success and Recruitment. This pivotal role is essential for enhancing enrollment in the College of Science (COS) undergraduate programs. The successful candidate will devise and execute strategies aimed at attracting and enrolling students, aligning with the objectives established by the College of Science and UTA Enrollment Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Recruitment Planning: Formulate and implement detailed recruitment strategies for the College of Science in partnership with the Director of Student Success and Recruitment and UTA Enrollment Management. Identify innovative marketing and recruitment tactics to boost student enrollment.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Act as a representative for the College of Science at various recruitment events, including information sessions, open houses, and orientations. Engage in strategic communication with prospective students through various channels such as phone, online chats, and traditional correspondence. Organize events aimed at enhancing student enrollment, including college fairs and admitted student days.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Collaborate closely with COS Academic Units and University Communications to aid in the creation and distribution of marketing materials. Serve as a liaison among the College of Science, UTA Admissions and Recruitment, and other relevant departments, assisting prospective students throughout the application and enrollment process.
  • Creative Development: Propose and assess creative marketing solutions, including brochures, flyers, and social media content. Develop promotional materials to support ongoing and future program initiatives.
  • Event Management: Lead the College of Science Welcome session during new student orientations. Oversee academic programming for events such as Family and Friends Weekend, collaborating with relevant offices. Assist with student engagement events throughout the academic year.
  • Program Development: Recruit, train, and supervise the COS Outreach Ambassador program. Participate in university-wide committees related to outreach and orientation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of two years of experience in university recruitment or a related area, or seven years of a combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience in higher education recruitment.
  • Strong marketing and recruitment skills with an understanding of industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in managing student ambassador programs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and writing capabilities.
  • Able to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and content management for digital platforms. Proficient in various technologies including CRMs and social media platforms.
