Position Overview
The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking an Academic Recruiter who will be instrumental in enhancing enrollment within the College of Science (COS) undergraduate programs. Reporting directly to the Director of Student Success and Recruitment, this role is pivotal in crafting and executing strategies aimed at attracting and enrolling students in alignment with the objectives of the College of Science and UTA Enrollment Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Recruitment Planning: Formulate and implement detailed recruitment strategies for the College of Science in partnership with the Director of Student Success and Recruitment and UTA Enrollment Management. Identify innovative marketing and recruitment techniques to boost student enrollment.
- Outreach and Engagement: Act as a representative for the College of Science at various recruitment events, including information sessions, open houses, and orientations. Engage with prospective students through various communication channels such as phone calls, online chats, and emails. Organize events aimed at enhancing student enrollment, including college fairs and receptions.
- Collaboration and Liaison: Collaborate closely with COS Academic Units and University Communications to aid in the creation and dissemination of marketing materials. Serve as a liaison among the College of Science, UTA Admissions and Recruitment, and other university departments to assist prospective students throughout the application and enrollment process.
- Creative Development: Propose and assess creative marketing solutions, including brochures, flyers, and digital content. Generate communication materials to support ongoing and future program initiatives.
- Event Management: Lead the College of Science Welcome session during new student orientations and oversee academic programming for significant events in collaboration with relevant university offices.
- Program Development: Recruit, train, and supervise the COS Outreach Ambassador program. Participate in university-wide committees focused on outreach and orientation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of two years of experience in university recruitment or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience in higher education recruitment.
- Strong marketing and recruitment skills with a solid grasp of industry best practices.
- Excellent organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in managing student ambassador programs.
Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and writing capabilities.
- Adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with graphic design and content management systems.
- Proficient in technology tools such as CRMs and social media platforms.
