Overview

The Principal Consultant will serve as the project manager for complex assignments within their designated region. This role demands adherence to all company policies and procedures while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and fostering new business opportunities. The Principal Consultant will address client concerns promptly and effectively, working with minimal supervision and exercising independent judgment in their tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct design and restoration of facades, roofs, and waterproofing, including field inspections and documentation of ongoing restoration efforts.
  • Promote a positive and professional work environment through exemplary leadership.
  • Complete assignments within the Principal Consultant's area of expertise.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals and scopes of work.
  • Ensure that all deliverables, including reports and proposals, meet Rimkus standards for accuracy and professionalism.
  • Possess the knowledge, training, and experience that distinguish a Principal Consultant.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, maintaining a robust client portfolio and demonstrating proficiency in practice growth.
  • Guide less experienced staff as they shadow or assist on projects for training purposes.
  • Engage in marketing initiatives to enhance the practice area and cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Review draft invoices prior to final submission.
  • Resolve client issues swiftly and satisfactorily.
  • Ensure that deliverables adhere to our guaranteed turnaround time.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Education and Certifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in building envelope restoration, consulting, and forensic analysis.
  • Professional licensure and/or certification is required, or additional years of relevant experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in inspecting and documenting existing facades, roofs, and waterproofing systems.
  • Exemplary professionalism and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands, Overtime, and Travel Requirements

Physical Demands: The role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and driving to various job sites. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is necessary, along with clear vision and depth perception.

Overtime: This position is classified as salaried with exempt FLSA status. Regular working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Overtime may be required to meet job demands.

Travel Requirements: This position may involve up to 25% travel, including some out-of-area and overnight assignments.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000, depending on education, experience, location, and certifications/licensure.
