Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design and restoration of facades, roofs, and waterproofing systems, including conducting field inspections and documenting ongoing restoration efforts.
  • Foster a positive and professional work atmosphere by leading through example.
  • Deliver assignments within the Principal Consultant's area of expertise.
  • Assist in drafting proposals and defining project scopes.
  • Ensure that all deliverables, including reports and proposals, meet the high standards of accuracy and professionalism expected at Rimkus.
  • Possess extensive knowledge, training, and experience that characterize a Principal Consultant.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight, leveraging an established network of clients and proficiency in practice growth.
  • Mentor less experienced staff, providing guidance while not being directly responsible for their training outcomes.
  • Engage in marketing initiatives to enhance the practice area and cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients.
  • Review all draft invoices prior to final submission.
  • Address client issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure deliverables adhere to our commitment of a guaranteed 2-day turnaround.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in building envelopes, including restoration, consulting, and forensic work.
  • Professional licensure and/or certification is required, or additional years of relevant experience may be considered.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in inspecting and documenting existing facades, roofs, and waterproofing systems.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Physical and Travel Requirements

Physical Demands: The role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and driving to various sites. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is necessary, along with clear vision and depth perception.

Travel Requirements: This position may require up to 25% travel, including potential overnight stays.

Salary Range: The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $140,000, based on education, experience, location, and certifications.
