Overview: The Property Risk Engineering division at Zurich is on the lookout for a Risk Engineering Consultant with expertise in highly protected risks (HPR). This position offers the flexibility of remote work, ideally suited for candidates located in the Northeast Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments of property and natural hazard risks while providing risk enhancement services.
  • Reviewing plans and facilitating change management processes.
  • Managing a portfolio of account risks and delivering tailored risk engineering solutions to satisfy underwriting and client needs.
  • Formulating and executing customer service strategies aimed at minimizing losses and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Offering engineering support to the underwriting team by participating in client and broker meetings.
  • Overseeing property account engineering services to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Delivering advanced consultative services to clients, including identifying significant loss exposures, analyzing major loss causes, and implementing property management programs.
  • Assisting in the promotion of Zurich's risk transfer insurance products alongside underwriting professionals and agents.
  • Supporting the marketing of Zurich Resilience Solutions risk engineering services.

Qualifications:

Risk Engineering Consultant:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Risk Engineering, or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Risk Engineering, or
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice with an Associate's degree and 3 years of experience in Risk Engineering.

All candidates should possess:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience collaborating in a team-oriented environment.

Senior Risk Engineering Consultant:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 or more years of experience in Risk Engineering, or
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 or more years of experience in Risk Engineering.

All candidates should possess:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience collaborating in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with large account HPR properties.
  • Experience in Account Executive roles and Loss Control/Risk Engineering within the insurance sector.
  • Knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Certification as a Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
  • Exceptional communication and consultative skills.
  • Strong collaborative abilities.
  • A proven track record of successful teamwork.
  • High proficiency in PC and software systems.
