Appointment Scheduling Specialist

Position Summary
CDC is currently offering a full-time position for a Scheduling Coordinator. This role is essential to the clinic's operations, often serving as the initial point of contact for patients and ensuring the clinic functions efficiently. Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Key Responsibilities of the Scheduling Coordinator:
- Welcome patients via phone or in-person, manage appointment scheduling, and foster a positive, inviting atmosphere.
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, making necessary adjustments to maintain smooth clinic operations.
- Register new patients and ensure accurate maintenance of patient records.
- Verify receipt of lab cases prior to treatment and coordinate with labs as needed.
- Keep patients informed about expected wait times if there are delays.
- Assist in completing and clarifying interpreter forms.
- Provide explanations of emergency room protocols and procedures to patients.
- Manage document copying and scanning into patient charts.
- Request transfers of patient charts as required.
- Document patient interactions and issues in the communication log or chart.
Qualifications for the Scheduling Coordinator:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, ideally in an office environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Karen, Somali, or Oromo is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with MS Office or similar software.
