Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to deliver critical administrative functions, technical expertise, and guidance as outlined. This position oversees a designated area and serves as a representative of the department, ensuring technical precision in project execution across all stages. This role is pivotal in enhancing Fluor's competitiveness in the global arena by providing exceptional services characterized by unparalleled value and technical proficiency. This is the principal role on assigned projects or involves architectural tasks of varying complexity.

  • Transform global strategic objectives into actionable procedures for project implementation.
  • Serve as a leader in employing Cost Competitive Execution methodologies and devise the most economically viable total project solutions for engineering disciplines.
  • Formulate and assess project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other foundational project documents for all project phases.
  • Generate estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts.
  • Establish, monitor, and analyze key material quantities; provide insights and forecasts.
  • Draft and evaluate specifications, including design criteria.
  • Act as Supervising Lead, offering guidance and mentorship to other leads and providing performance appraisal input for less experienced engineers.
  • Evaluate and independently recommend solutions to complex issues in alignment with organizational and project objectives.
  • Potential travel may be required for business-related matters.
  • Adhere to expectations regarding attendance and punctuality.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Must possess authorization to work in the country where the position is based.

Essential Qualifications

  • NAAB accredited professional architectural degree and sixteen (16) years of relevant experience.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse audiences, including management, colleagues, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Technical knowledge pertinent to the role.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply local, state/province, and federal/national regulations and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Advanced understanding of:
  • Building code analysis and application.
  • Architectural specifications.
  • Building planning and design.
  • Detailing of building envelopes.
  • Detailing of architectural materials and systems.
  • Vendor document review.
  • Discipline codes and standards, commercial material availability, construction methods, and costs.
  • Effort-hour estimation and workforce forecasting.
  • Management and leadership of large-scale projects.
  • Project initiation, control-level scheduling, progress reporting, and project closure.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer software, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D architectural design software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenBuildings, and Sketchup.
  • Experience in EPC projects within commercial or industrial sectors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NCARB certification.
  • Professional architectural registration.
  • Advanced knowledge of:
  • Site master planning.
  • Architectural programming.
  • Conceptual design of buildings and sites.
  • 3D visualization and renderings.
  • Sustainable design practices.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software.
  • Practical field experience.
  • Active participation in external technical societies.
  • Experience with EPC projects for the US Department of Energy or other federal agencies.
  • Experience with nuclear facility projects under a nuclear quality assurance program.
  • Experience with manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotech projects.

Compensation Range

$135,000 to $250,000

Market Rate

The market rate for this position typically aligns with the midpoint of the salary range; however, variations in final compensation are influenced by factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
